There are a lot of mountains located in North Cascades National Park. This is mainly because of the Pacific and San Andreas fault boundary. There are many different species of plants and animals on mountains like Mount Shuskan(shown in picture) and Mount Baker.

Glaciers are abundant in the North Cascades as they have over 300 of them. The North Cascades is also one of the most glaciated places in the United States. A glacier is a moving sheet of ice. However these glaciers are slowly melting because of climate change, which is affecting the park significantly in other ways as well.

Animal species are in great amount at this national park. Mammals like pikas(seen in picture), the gray wolf, Columbia black-tailed deer, and others can call the North Cascades home. There are also various bird species, some being quite rare, such as the bald eagle, Harlequin duck, and many more. Of course there are reptiles, amphibians, and insects located in this park too. The number of animals in this park help make it one of the most varied ecosystems on our planet.
